We’re back after a long, long hiatus. Here’s a short episode after a long trip to Indianapolis for MotoGP weekend. I think you’ll be able to tell I’m pretty tired here — sorry for that.
Links:
The Look Twice for Motorcycles campaign; the original Think! campaign from the UK is here.
Every motorcycle fan should check out Discovery Turbo’s Twist the Throttle.
Daniel Peirce and his motorcycle engine photography. His book is already out and available at his site (signed copies!), Amazon, and other book sellers.
Yeah, Buggy Rollin is an odd thing to feature here, but I was really fascinated by a motorcycle racing against a human roller skate.

Here’s the last of our footage from the Seattle International Motorcycle Show. News of the MCN Fantasy Road Race 2008 (now free!) and how you can win a new helmet, a chat with KTM, info on the Washington state motorcycle safety program, Rachel looks for a bike and I check out the BestRest CyclePump.
We’ve set up a league so MotoBrief viewers can compete for some great prizes, including a new helmet, in the MCN Fantasy Road Race. Sign up, join league number 38, then send me an email letting me know your team name. If you’re going to compete for prizes, I need to have a valid email address I can associate with your team.
UPDATE: For the record, I’m not going to do anything with your email address. It won’t be shared with anyone and you won’t get ongoing emails from me. I need it because we aren’t affiliated with MCN and I don’t get any info on people who join the MotoBrief.tv private league. So I need you to claim your team by email so I have a way to contact you if you win. If I can’t contact you, the prizes will go to the next highest finisher.
KTM models.
Rider training and safety information from the Washington Motorcycle Safety Program. Information on other rider training at the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and Team Oregon.
CyclePump from BestRest Products.

We kick off (and complete) our coverage of the 2008 Dakar Rally. Yes, the rally has been cancelled and the dreams of 570 teams dashed. We sum up what happened and hear some feedback from Rally Pan American team manager Charlie Rauseo, privateer Don Hatton and voice of the Dakar Toby Moody provided by RallyRAIDio.net. We also hear an excerpt of comments from Robby Gordon of Team Dakar USA, courtesy of MarathonRally.com.
Dakar.com has a history of the Dakar Rally through 2006, including routes, highlights and results.
RallyRAIDio has great interviews with people who were on the scene in Lisbon, including more of the interviews we highlighted in the show. And MarathonRally.com has the latest news and some videos, including Robby Gordon’s reaction.
For more info on the people we heard from:
